Our rapidly growing Toronto-based client is looking for the position Accountant, Development. Are you someone who thrives in a fast paced environment and loves to constantly be challenged? Reporting into the Controller, would be responsible for the following tasks.


Responsibilities

• Recording transactions, posting entries, preparing month-end close and internal financial reports on assigned developments
• Work with the auditors in ensuring compliance is met and supporting documentation and notes are provided with financial statements
• Maintain all assigned development loan requests
• Assist with preparing financial reports for lenders + joint venture partners
• Tracking project costs to budget and analyzing variances
• Monthly tax filing and annual audit coordination
• Liaison between contractors, accounting team, and client service team

Requirements

• Post secondary education in Accounting, Business or related discipline
• 3+ years' relevant experience including full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
• Experience in construction / development, real-estate or property management
• CPA designated or pursuing
• IFRS working knowledge
