Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Branch Manager for one of the leading crane rental, heavy rigging and specialty hauling service providers throughout western North America.
The Account Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining key client relationships which result in petrochemical, oil and gas, mining, power generation and wind opportunities that help the company meet both long and short-term growth targets. Work closely with the Branch Manager and Senior Management to identify business opportunities that support corporate strategic objectives and are aligned with company vision, mission, and business plan. Through effective territory management, is responsible for the maintenance and growth of existing customer base through regular activities such as sales calls, jobsite visits, and responses to quotations and/or RFP’s. Aware and in pursuit of opportunities for account growth and new business, including cross-selling services for client activity in other geographies covered by the company. Responsible for all assigned accounts in terms of communications, conflict resolution, and compliance on client deliverables and revenue. Participates in the corporate sales effort via the company’s customer listings, and quotation follow up systems. Monitors the assigned marketplace for new and emerging industries and business trends. Can understand company services and philosophy, especially as it pertains to safety, and effectively communicate all offerings to the client. Works in close conjunction with operations staff to ensure optimum fleet implementation and utilization, assist with daily operational requirements where directed. Provides regular two-way communication between the client and operations team to provide strong team representation and set proper client expectations. Works closely with the operations team in order to maintain a continuous knowledge on project status to identify potential issues and/or opportunities within or related to the project.

Background Required:
  • Sales or Rental in Crane and/or Specialized Hauling or other Technical / Industrial Industry (5 years)
  • Familiarity with crane functions, capabilities, and standards
  • Read and understand legal terms and conditions
  • Field measure to correctly identify parameters (boom height, radius) and/or materials needed for a job
  • Gather preliminary information i.e. gathering existing ground bearing conditions, heights, lifting/hauling restrictions
  • Interacting with target customers, i.e. owners, engineers and/or contractors
  • Strong inter-personal and communicative skills in English (i.e. verbal, written, presentations)
  • Computer literate: MS Office programs (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Residence: Eastern Montana / Western North Dakota – Bakken Shale Region (relocation assistance may be provided)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Education: College Degree, Technical Diploma or equivalent experience relating to Business Development
