Position Purpose: The Account Managers role is a sales/marketing position supporting continued growth strategies for a company's products and solutions within the mining industry, covering customers based in Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Nature and Scope: The ideal candidate has experience in developing new customer relationships, demonstrating past sales and marketing experience to navigate challenges in building and growing new markets. Mining customers require a well-developed understanding of high-quality and process-related technology of products manufactured by the company's facilities, as well as the capacity and capability of these manufacturing facilities. The incumbent is expected to develop and maintain positive relationships with new, existing, and emerging customers, including Maintenance, Production Planners, Purchasing Agents, and Facility Managers. The incumbent is expected to support existing OEM or customer wear parts designs and make recommendations to enhance wear parts to best serve the customer. Job performance is measured in terms of achieving sales goals, the ability to work with current Account Managers when needed, planning, and problem-solving with both internal and external customers.

The ability to work with others through networking, using influence strategies, and well-developed communication skills are critical. The ability to develop and carry out a plan that applies technical expertise and encompasses all operational considerations goes a long way toward superior job performance.

Principal Accountabilities: ♦ Interface with existing as well as potentially new customers within various market sectors, such as Hard Rock Mining, to develop and grow wear products sales volume and profitability. ♦ Identify and respond to customer concerns regarding product quality, delivery schedules, productivity, or design concerns related to the company's products and other issues. ♦ Interact with company Manufacturing staff to ensure quality, timely delivery schedules, and ever-improving knowledge of customer and product requirements. ♦ Develop quotes, proposals, and respond to customer inquiries related to the company's products, designs, and company operations. This will include the use of laser scanning equipment and interaction with 3D Applications Engineers. ♦ Interact with company staff service groups, such as Drafting and Design and Finance, as well as with Account Managers to assure a timely response to customer needs. ♦ Prospect for new accounts that align with growth, marketing strategy, and manufacturing capabilities. ♦ Support the company's presence at various trade and technical shows and seminars. ♦ Provide forecasts and profitability to support the company’s sales plan.

Position Requirements:  A sales & marketing degree with solid technical acumen or equivalent in training and experience.  Sales and marketing experience is a must.  Strong knowledge of the mining and mineral processing industry and related crushing and grinding equipment (comminution).  Strong, well-developed communication skills, both written and oral.  An understanding of the foundry manufacturing processes.  An appreciation for the key elements of fiscal management and finance, both from the company perspective as well as the customers.  To be based within the region is preferred.
