Account Manager

PRIMARY JOB OBJECTIVE: Sell welding products within assigned geographic regions. Provide sales and service to existing customer base.


1. Project Management-Ability to determine appropriate measures to achieve project goals, prioritize and coordinate these measures, ability to control processes and activities in a result-oriented manner, ensures project progress, and ability to work effectively under tight deadlines regardless of possible setbacks.

3. Creativity- the ability to adapt traditional methods, concepts, models, designs, technologies, or systems to new applications; or the ability devise new approaches to make improvements or solve problems.

5. Relationship Management- Ability to build rapports and manage interactions to provide service and support to the customer.

6. Territory Management- Develop multiple contacts within each customer site, ability to communicate effectively with the customer, ability to be persistent, maintain frequency of calls, and pursue opportunities to align to sales goals.


· Analyzes customers with respect to sales goals. Seeks out prospects that fit this analysis and sells them on the merits and value of products. Locates and sells to new customers either direct or through distribution.

· Garner market intelligence on competitors, by identifying changes to their corporate strategy, development of new products, targeted accounts, material supply, partnerships, etc.

· Prioritize additional business with existing customers. Provides sales service for all assigned accounts. Oversees domestic distribution in order to coordinate strategic and long-term goals set forth by the Segment Manager and/or Sales Director.

· Assist with the implementation and management of the sales system and values: Improve Operational Efficiency, Improve Product Sales, and Reduce Tied-Up Capital.

· Develops an understanding of welding systems and how our products function in the manufacturing process. Develops an understanding of the marketing and selling of welding products.

· Develop and maintain good rapport with customers respecting their diversity, assisting them with information on general inquiries and requests, price quotations, samples and technical support.

· Reports directly to the Segment Manager. Responsible for keeping the CRM system up to date, preparing for weekly meeting with Segment Manager to highlight previous weeks activities, and review plan for upcoming week. Responsible for keeping the Segment Manager informed of opportunities and issues, which affect the successful completion of job assignments. In Segment Manager’s absence, reports to the Sales Director.

· Must be self-motivated, well organized, and demonstrated good time management skills.


  • Bachelor's degree in welding engineering, electrical engineering or marketing
  • One or two years of sales experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Industrial sales experience preferred
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally including some overnight travel
  • Knowledgeable in Lotus Notes, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and a variety of other software applications
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, stand, twist, and life 70 pounds.
