Job Summary
The Account Manager is responsible for taking orders and ensuring that all orders are entered into company systems and fulfilled according to documented processes. This position works with various suppliers and third parties to purchase, ship, clear store and deliver the correct material in accordance with customer specifications.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Responsible for customer interaction and order fulfillment for assigned customers and/or products. Receives and fulfills sales orders and maintains account relationships with appropriate external contacts. Assists customers with ordering decisions using forecasts and historical purchase information. Properly accounts for, documents and attributes Purchase Orders and/or Sales Orders and expenses incurred in the process of order fulfillment. Follows processes in accordance with Quality Management System (ISO) standard procedures.
• Communicates with new and existing customers to develop rapport and better understand product needs, requests usage information and forecasting demand, and maintains appropriate safety stock in warehouses in accordance with guidelines established by management. Keeps customers informed of company policies, procedures and the status of their orders and accounts.
• Monitors stock levels for assigned products and escalates to Purchasing when minimum stock level quantities are reached. Provides recommendations for adjusting stock levels based on forecasts from customers and purchasing patterns.
• Coordinates with Sales and Purchasing to support Sales-to-Operations preparations and planning. Validates Master Data detail regarding customer specifications, contracts, new customers, new products and changes. Obtains quotes for new materials as requested. Updates pricing based on information provided from Sales.
Education & Experience
• Associate’s degree in supply chain, business or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supply chain, logistics, or customer-focused role required

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including SharePoint and Excel, and ability to quickly learn industry-specific software; Ability to work across multiple software platforms
Work Environment & Physical Demands
• Ability to sit and type at a computer terminal for long periods of time, utilizing close vision to review reports and documents
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
• Minimal stooping, squatting and bending may be required
