Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the VP of Client Management of a Freight Management company, part of a billion-dollar supply chain service provider with rapidly growing capabilities in transportation, warehouse and distribution center support, yard management, last mile delivery, supply chain optimization, and more. The Freight Management company was named on Crain’s Fast 50 list of the fastest-growing companies in Chicago, and on Transport Topics Top Freight Brokerage Firms.
The Account Manager will be responsible for achieving organic margin and revenue growth from an esteemed portfolio of clients, while leading the tactical execution of the client experience. Will oversee the comprehensive client experience. Will prospect and onboard quality carriers to handle the growth in volume of shipments. Will collaborate across departments to design and execute a business development strategy on a per customer basis. Will identify strategic opportunities and ways in which the company can achieve organic revenue growth. Create a strategic alliance with the portfolio of clients and oversee the execution of all customer-facing activities. Will design and execute best-in-class operational protocol based on client expectations and conduct market research to communicate trends that impact business. Will establish and uphold customer relationships in various modes of transportation and logistics service offerings. Lead and manage a team of Customer Operations Representatives (3-5 direct reports) and cultivate talent through mentorship, coaching, and continuous education. Challenge is to increase revenues and maximize profitability.

Background Required:
  • Large Account Management within Logistics (3+ years)
  • Mode of Transportation (i.e. Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, Specialized)
  • Verifiable growth track record
  • Pricing and Margin Integrity
  • Outstanding Negotiation Skills
  • Managed KPI’s (i.e. Customer Development, Profitability, Market Penetration)
  • Computer literate: Microsoft (i.e. Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
  • Residence: Chicago, IL
