Account Manager

A candidate for an Account Manager role will need to be able to demonstrate a core knowledge of marketing communications in the financial space. Stemming from years of experience in Financial MarComms, the candidate will arrive with a successful track record in client management, a pool of high-profile media relationships and the ability to consistently build and execute marketing strategies for a range of clients.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience at a top-level marketing communications or PR firm.
  • Has existing high profile media relationships in more than one market
  • Can participate in drafting pitch documents / client strategies, including digital and social where appropriate.
  • Shows strategic creativity within pitch documents and slide decks, as well as press releases, social media posts and multiple pitches to journalists.
  • Demonstrates an entrepreneurial spirit, taking an active approach in the development of the business and sourcing of new leads.
  • Presentable and engages in client facing activities
  • Can perform well under pressure, particularly pitching sessions and live Q&As
  • Attend events and make connections which can contribute to the expansion of the client base
  • The ability to independently manage multiple client accounts with minimal help
  • Able to lead client reporting phone calls
  • Able to lead and motivate others, engendering a positive working environment.
  • Encourages the development of account executives within the firm, delegating tasks and monitoring the education of junior team members.

Account work:

  • Take a leading role in client account management.
  • Produce good first and final drafts of written materials, such as press releases.
  • Research and organise media opportunities for clients.
  • Put clients forward for relevant forward feature opportunities.
  • Track industry news relevant to clients.
  • Establish media relationships for clients.
  • Work with clients and your team to establish objectives for any activity.
