Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the VP Sales for a global logistics and trade compliance organization dedicated to fulfilling the supply chain needs of customers with a strong emphasis on customs brokerage, domestic & international transportation, trade compliance, and consulting. The Account Executive is responsible for selling end-to-end freight-forwarding services inclusive of air and ocean, import, export, and domestic transportation. The successful individual will develop and nurture current business and new prospects (with emphasis on 10 target clients), create sales proposals, and conduct sales calls. Obtains and maintains complete and accurate information on prospective and existing clients in contact management database. Demonstrates effective negotiation and closing techniques in securing profitable business across all products. Clearly communicates the development of potential business throughout the sales cycle. Reports sales activity on a weekly basis to management. Performs all administrative obligations within assigned deadlines. Ensures proper account set-up. Communicates with internal and external customers in a clear and concise manner.

Background Required:
  • Experience selling non-asset based freight forwarding services (3-5 years)
  • Multimodal (e.g., air, ocean, import/export, FTL, LTL, rail)
  • Proven success in gaining new business through prospecting
  • Bids, proposals, and negotiations
  • Time, territory & contact management (e.g., CRM)
  • Understand impact of revenue on the P&L statement
  • Computer systems: MS Office Suite
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Residence: Home Office in Greater Cleveland, Ohio
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • CargoWise
  • Freight forwarding operations
  • Value added sales (e.g., customs brokerage, warehousing)
