Account Director: Financial, Corp Rep, & Crisis Communications
Account Directors are able to leverage their own specialized skills and backgrounds while operating in a generalist environment.
Responsibilities:
- Have a minimum of 5-6 years of agency experience.
- Deep understanding of business and finance
- Ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
- Exceptional written and verbal communication ability
- Energetic team player with strong self-motivation
- Ability to think strategically and creatively, with strong problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask in high-pressure situations
- Exhibit discretion with confidential client matters
- Knowledge of U.S. media landscape
- Knowledge of Factiva, Bloomberg and other research resources
- Proven interest in and understanding of financial and business issues, current affairs and politics.
- Superb organizational skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
Team & Community:
- Act as the eyes and the ears of the team: always aware of work streams and deadlines
- Proactive when managing upwards to ensure we deliver on time and above expectations
- Actively socialize ideas, knowledge and recommendations to the wider team
- Play a supportive role in the new business process; contribute to pitch documents and RFPs
- Champion opportunities to bring in wider expertise from within the firm on existing and upcoming projects
- Proactively share creative ideas to extend existing mandates
- Foster a network of relationships with the analyst and investor community to understand issues and priorities
- Proactively build a network locally to identify talent referrals, new business prospects and media contacts
- Mentors interns and new joiners
Ideal Candidate:
- A rising advisor with experience counseling clients on business critical issues (e.g. crisis, M&A, financial situations, geopolitical, etc.)
- Adept at navigating and succeeding within high-performance, entrepreneurial environments
- Excellent communicator with professional polish and strong emotional intelligence
