Our client is looking for an AVP, Financial Reporting, who will be responsible for the full cycle financial reporting process for the group’s corporate entities. Responsibilities include managing the quarterly close and consolidation process; coordinating and reviewing quarterly financial statements, including full footnote disclosures; as well as the annual audited financial statements for each corporate entity. The AVP is also responsible for researching technical accounting standards and their impact on financial reporting and preparing presentations for both internal and external stakeholders, among other responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITES:
Support portfolio administration in the following areas:
- Oversee the quarterly and annual financial reporting process, including preparation of the group consolidation and drafting of footnote disclosures in accordance with the applicable accounting standards (U.S. GAAP and IFRS).
- Prepare financial statements for all corporate entities.
- Manage debt covenant calculations and lender reporting.
- Manage the identification, research, and resolution of financial reporting.
- Analyze and interpret fund and transaction documentation for accounting and financial reporting.
- Prepare accounting position/technical research.
- Manage external auditor.
- Contribute to the FP&A process, calculation of Non-GAAP KPI’s, and reconciliation between forecast and actual results.
- Create memoranda documenting fundings, prepayments, restructurings, and other important events to be communicated to management.
- Assign, oversee, and evaluate the work of direct reports, if applicable.
Assist in non-recurring projects including but not limited to:
- Provide support to the Accounting and Finance team in developing, maintaining, and documenting the group’s system of internal control processes and procedures.
- Provide ongoing ad-hoc assistance to senior management in preparing financial analysis and reports used for various purposes, including but not limited to investor and potential investor presentations and portfolio-related matters.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of relevant financial services accounting and reporting experience; Big Four experience is a plus
- CPA required
- Deep knowledge and understanding of Investment Company Guide accounting and reporting
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, including specific expertise with Word and Excel
- Demonstrated strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with financial modeling a plus
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience managing people
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet established deadlines
- Demonstrated understanding, knowledge of, and experience reading and interpreting contracts
- Demonstrated understanding of investment products, alternative investments, and securities operations
