AP Clerk/AP Specialist
OPPORTUNITY
Our client is a leader in the insurance space with a robust network of independent agents across a dozen states. The AP Clerk/AP Specialist will oversee all processes related to vendor invoice and employee expense report processing and repayment. This role will be on site 5 days/week in our client’s Atlanta HQ and our client is providing a strong compensation package for top candidates.
SCOPE OF WORK
- Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports, providing reimbursement and payments in a timely manner. Research and resolve disputed invoices and maintain all A/P records, filings, and invoices.
- Perform accurate data entry to assign vendor invoices and employee expense reports to the proper GL code. Validate that employee expenses submitted comply with company policies, providing feedback to employee and leadership when expenses appear to be in non-compliance.
- Review open aging report for outstanding items on a regular basis and reconcile monthly.
- Provide quality customer service to employees, creditors, banks and vendors when processing invoices and expenses, which typically requires a response to requests within 1-2 business days.
- Work to automate manual A/P processes and optimize workflow for efficiency.
- Reconcile, research, and analyze vendor statement and account activity to identifying potential cost saving opportunities for the enterprise.
- Develop, maintain, and report monthly A/P metrics to senior leadership (CFO)
- Assist with other ad-hoc accounting duties as requested such as account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, tax filing preparation, and more.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
- High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in an A/P position
- Proficiency with Excel and Workday
- Strong data entry, typing, and attention to detail skillset
