2nd Shift In Process Inspector

The Company is a premier, full-service precision manufacturer for the medical and aerospace industries. We are a market-leading manufacturer of implants, specialty surgical instruments, cutting tools, and delivery systems for orthopedic, sports medicine, trauma, extremities, and other MedSurg applications. We seek a full-time In Process Inspector at our facility in Mooresville, NC, on the 2nd shift. 2nd shift runs from 3:30 pm - 2:00 am M-TH + OT is available. The ideal candidate will have experience in a production environment with good communication and an ability to learn quickly.

General Summary:

The ideal candidate will be hard-working and team-oriented while keeping on task with minimal direct supervision. Must have excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently. The In-Process Inspector will utilize hand-measurement devices to validate production conformance, enter data into computer tracking systems, and communicate quickly and effectively with operators, management, and others.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Dimensional inspections using inspection equipment at the production machine
  • Dimensional inspections utilizing Keyence Measuring System, Optical Comparator, and other inspection equipment
  • Passivation release testing and documentation
  • Complete First Piece Checks and document results electronically
  • Understand and use Acceptable Quality Levels (AQL’s)
  • Participate in Corrective Actions and Continuous Improvement Activities
  • Clearing machines of good parts and segregating questionable or non-conforming product
  • Recording Scrap and suspect parts in tracking software
  • Identify and deliver features for deburring rework process as needed
  • Follow policies, procedures, and practices of the Quality Department and Carolina Precision Technologies
  • Read, write, and understand instructions in English
  • Must be able to work independently
  • All other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Ability to self-manage tasks
  • Use of calipers, micrometers, go/no go gauges, height gages, Electronic gauge systems, and additional hand-held measuring devices
  • General computing, including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Attention to detail
  • Critical thinking
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe workspace
  • 2+ years experience
  • Bend, stoop, squat, and walk continuously
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. regularly
  • High School Diploma or GED
