Your Role with the Company
As a Project Engineer with this Client, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting complex, high-impact operations that shape California’s coastline and protect its communities. You’ll work closely with the Project Manager and field teams to ensure that technical execution, scheduling, and reporting are accurate, efficient, and aligned with project goals.


You’ll assist in field crew coordination; help ensure equipment and personnel are deployed effectively while also monitoring evolving site conditions. When challenges arise, you’ll contribute to real-time problem solving, evaluating changes in scope and helping implement timely, cost-effective solutions.

You will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the project schedule, as well as creating and managing required submittals and the submittal log. You’ll maintain daily oversight of RFI logs, change order logs, correspondence logs, and survey files for various field activities. You will also assist in survey and layout efforts to ensure technical accuracy on-site.

Your responsibilities will include tracking productivity across various project activities and reporting daily to Operations. You'll help prepare and price change order documentation, manage monthly pay estimates, and generate monthly actual vs. budget reports. You will also prepare monthly estimated cost and revenue-at-completion reports, calculate revenue based on delivery changes and quantity variations, and forecast monthly cash flow through project completion.

In addition to supporting project documentation and controls, you’ll contribute to production strategy discussions and help identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs. You’ll be a key part of ensuring that all phases of the project run smoothly, meet quality standards, and stay aligned with budget and schedule expectations.

Reports directly to the Project Manager or Construction Manager.

What you bring to the table
🎓 Built on a Solid Foundation:

You hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management—or bring a strong combination of field experience and education that proves you're ready to lead. You’ve spent at least three years in marine construction or dredging environments, and you know what it takes to support complex jobs from the ground up or an equivalent combination of education and field experience that proves you’re ready to step in and contribute right away.

You’ve got Excel skills and are comfortable with platforms like Primavera, CAD, HCSS, and maybe even Vista. If you're not there yet, you’re tech-savvy enough to learn quickly and adapt to the tools the job demands.
