Job Description
Our client is a manufacturer and retailer of the highest quality, hand-manufactured mattresses. They are now looking for a Retail Sales Associate to add to their Palo Alto location.
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Be passionate and knowledgeable about the brand and our client’s premium products.
- Create a premium customer experience at all times.
- Be an active contributor to developing the company’s business by
increasing the company’s presence in the local community,
developing referral sources and building the company’s customer base.
Minimum of 5 years of face-to-face consumer selling experience, preferably with experience selling high-quality, premium consumer products. NOTE: Experience in mattress sales or manufacturing is NOT required (indeed, it’s not even desired).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Achieves or exceeds assigned sales goals by selling mattresses, box springs and related products
- Consistently uses our client’s sales process and talking points to establish rapport, determine customer needs, overcome objections and close the sale or gain customer commitment
- Accurately educates customers about products features, benefits and terms of sale in accordance with company standards
- Takes initiative in outbound efforts to contact potential customers, referral sources and other potential leads
- Projects a positive, professional and energetic demeanor
- Promotes team work and good working relationships with co-workers in all locations
- Delivers outstanding customer service
- Consistently builds customer relationships and maintains sales pipeline
- Maintains competition awareness
- Attends marketing, networking and in store events
- Maintains an awareness of all our client’s marketing and promotional efforts
- Captures accurate and complete customer information in the CRM database
- Writes and maintains accurate sales orders and customer cards
- Actively participates in sales meetings
- Performs duties at all company locations as requested
- Keeps RMA’s within company standards
- Complies with all company policies and procedures

3BEDUCATION
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma.
3BOTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Language Ability: Ability to read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to accurately fill out customer orders both in written and computer entry formats. Ability to speak effectively before individuals or small groups of customers.
- Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Computer Skills: To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge or Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Order entry systems.
WORK HOURS AND LOCATION(S)
Our client’s retail showrooms are open 7 days per week and sometimes require overtime and work on Company recognized Holidays. This position may alternate its assignment location to either of their two (2) retail showrooms.
