Job Summary: Provide patient care and treatment to correct dental problems . You will be responsible for preparing tools for the orthodontist and getting patients ready for orthodontic procedures. You would also be responsible for the front desk, answering calls, assisting patients and other administrative duties. The ideal candidate should have a blend of receptionist, administrative, and dental experience, along with exceptional telephone etiquette and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Job Duties:

  • Greet patients and visitors with a warm and welcoming demeanor, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Efficiently manage the front desk, handling incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and managing patient inquiries.
  • Maintain patient records accurately and ensure that all necessary forms and information are collected and updated.
  • Coordinate and manage patient appointments, ensuring proper scheduling and minimizing wait times.
  • Assisting the Orthodontic during a variety of treatment procedures
  • Taking impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth)
  • Checking orthodontic gear like braces and retainers
  • Sterilizing instruments and equipment
  • Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
  • Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counselling)
  • Performing office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer
  • Communicating with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies)
  • Digital X-rays

Qualification/Criteria:

  • 1-2 years’ experience as a Dental Surgery Assistant or Orthodontic Assistant
  • Dental Surgery Assistant certification will be an asset
