Reports to: Director of Information Technology

The IT Infrastructure Engineer position will be a key member of the IT team and will be looked upon as a subject matter expert and advocate to fellow team members on making reliable technical decisions around supporting and deploying large-scale services and complex systems that run our business critical systems. This person will be responsible for the infrastructure of multiple sites. The candidate for this role will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, experience in integrating multi technology platforms. Strong oral and written communication skills and a desire to tackle the complex problems.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Solid technical background in a on premise/hosted services environment including infrastructure networks, hardware, software and telecommunications
  • Maintain and monitor all network, security and computer systems to meet the organization's current and future requirements
  • Responsible for management, maintenance and architecture of storage, virtualized environment, servers, network devices, and productivity tools
  • Monitor systems and identify performance issues proactively
  • Cyber security as it relates to our overall network infrastructure
  • Automated monitoring tools
  • Work within strict time frames and elevate incidents within defined timeframes
  • Test all changes to networks, hardware, software, and hosted applications
  • Monitor service delivery compliance to budget, quality standards and customer and business stakeholder requirements
  • Work with various vendors and service providers to ensure productive environment and interact and coordinate with vendors, suppliers, distributors and contract consultants
  • Resolve issues and prepare status reviews and reports
  • Maintain the necessary project plans and documentation of all system builds and modifications
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of current infrastructure and future trends
  • Ability to identify incident trends in order to elevate incidents in accordance with standard protocols
  • Able to gather relevant information systematically to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Good attention to detail, testing and documentation
  • Knowledge of ITIL and industry best practices

Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
  • 5 years working experience in managing systems and networks for multiple locations
  • Certification in CCNA/CCNP, MCSA/MCSE is a plus
  • Proficient in Network, Firewall, VPN, Switches/Router (managed) and Security design and implementation, including Wireless networks, DNS, SMTP, DHCP
  • Proficient in Microsoft Window Server, Active Directory, Virtualization (VMWare/Hyper-V), SAN Systems (Dell EMC Unity preferred), Citrix Xen/Net Scaler, Cybersecurity
  • Proficient in Cloud technologies such as O365, Azure, MS Clustering, SQL Server, SharePoint
  • Good experience in End-User Computing, Telecommunication Systems, Video Conferencing, Load Balancing, Performance Tuning, Anti-virus/malware, Backup Technologies and Recovery Management, Patch Management/Updates
  • Possess hands-on experience and good technical skill with proven track record in IT infrastructure and emerging IT technologies engineering in the following area: Platform, storage, database, and virtualization
  • Strong working knowledge and ability to apply architecture concepts, frameworks and methodologies to projects
