  • 2+ years’ experience in a role focusing on one or more of the following: Project Accounting, Project Contract Administration, Accounts Receivable Administration/Cash Collections, Job Cost Control. Associates/Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field recommended, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working within the Construction Industry (Electrical, General Contractor, etc.) a plus.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, especially Excel, required.
  • Adobe Acrobat or Blue Beam
  • 10-key by touch
  • Solid understanding of, and experience with, Job Cost Accounting – Cost Control, Budgets, Projections, Contract Administration, Accounts Receivable Administration, Compliance –focus on Time and Material/Substantiated Cost type billings.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to effectively, professionally and diplomatically interface at all levels (customers, subcontractors, vendors, co-workers, peers, field personnel, managers and executives).
  • Must be detail-oriented, customer focused, exceptionally organized; possess a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and take the initiative to provide support/follow-up.
  • Must be self-motivated, hard-working, performance driven, and reliable.
  • Experience with, and understanding of, Public Works Contracts (Intents/Affidavits, Certified payroll, etc.) a plus.
  • Experience with Viewpoint/Vista Accounting Software a plus.


  • Reports to Manager of Job Cost, and provides support to all Project Executives, Project Managers and Project Engineers with all administrative tasks on projects from inception to completion.
  • Heavy focus on all Accounts Receivable related tasks & Job Cost Control & understanding of Cash Collection efforts.
  • Data Entry – high efficiency and accuracy required.
  • Prepare monthly substantiated cost billings for multiple projects per each Contract’s terms by gathering supporting documentation (daily reports, field and staff timecards, material and sub invoices, tool and delivery logs, etc.). Submit substantiated cost billings to Project Managers/Executives for review and approval on time to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Ability to understand contract language & terms for preparation of payment applications and lien releases, and all other required documentation. Review monthly Schedule of Values (SOV’s) for accuracy.
  • Job Cost Control - Budget tracking and entry, monthly projections and variances on projects.
  • Coordinate and attend meetings with Job Cost, other Accounting Departments & Project Teams, while contributing and providing key information to team members.
  • Filing, scanning, and indexing.
  • Work with both internal and external project auditors – providing any requested reports & backup within deadlines.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
