Role Composition & Key Responsibilities

Contract Pricing Specialist

  • Work with BLS personnel both onsite at client sites and at the corporate office to obtain pertinent contracts, rate schedules and all relevant documents impacting pricing
  • Maintain, track and document any changes to allowable and variance calculations
  • Identify business opportunities through the pricing build process
  • Identify and recommend solutions to reduce manual efforts associated with pricing
  • Work with the Technology Services teams to identify and develop business tools to assist Managed Care Analysts with identification and collection of new opportunities
  • Build strong, lasting relationships with BLS personnel
  • Attend client, department and company meetings
  • Comply with federal and state laws, company and department policies and procedures
  • All other duties as assigned

Essential Education, Skills, and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Advanced computer proficiency including working knowledge of MS Access, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Organization and documentation skills to ensure timeliness of new/updated allowable and variance calculations
  • Mathematical skills: ability to calculate rates using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Ability to read and interpret an extensive variety of documents such as contracts, claims, instructions, policies and procedures in written (in English) and diagram form
  • Ability to present ideas on complex, detailed issues with ease
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
