Our WDC regional client is a privately held insurance agency headquartered in the heart of Northern Virginia. As an all-lines insurance broker, our client has been serving domestic and international communities with success since the early 1970s.
They offer a wide range of insurance products and risk management services, including Embassies & Diplomatic Missions, Commercial, Life and Disability, Employee Benefits and Private Clients.

We are looking to bring on our next Account Executive to support our Commercial Lines – Real Estate department and deliver exceptional risk management solutions to our growing client base.
Job Description: The primary functions of this position are to manage a book of business comprised of middle markets larger Property & Casualty insurance clients (within the Real Estate sector) with an emphasis on full client retention.
The Account Executives (AE) provide quality service to clients, manage and control client relationships, and support Producers in their efforts to attract and retain clients. The Account Executive will be the day-to-day liaison between the insurance company and designated accounts.
The AE is responsible for the successful fulfillment of corporate strategies and compliance with company workflows and procedures.
General Responsibilities
Manage daily servicing of clients which includes contract analysis, coverage and exposure analysis, endorsement activity, problem-solving, renewal management, preparation of quotes/proposals, and binding of coverage.
- Assist producers and other department staff in closing larger/complex new business as needed.
- Assist in managing new business and renewal workflows of the department.
- Analyze coverage for gaps and coverage enhancements for new business opportunities, including review of prior policies.
- Create Broker of Record (BOR) letters and submit to carriers for acceptance.
- Oversee and delegate tasks to other team members as needed to ensure the client’s needs are met.
- Perform all technical and clerical functions for the assigned book of business to ensure the insurance service needs of individual clients are met.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunity to upsell and cross-sell new lines of coverage to existing accounts.
- Maintain proficiency in all technical aspects of the position including policy review, limits, coverages, program design, solvency issues as well as excess & surplus lines placements.
- Remarket and manage renewal activities with the Account Manager/Account Executive/Producer.
- Address client needs by communicating with the client to ensure that all appropriate resources are being utilized.
- Develop and maintain complete, accurate, and timely data in EPIC according to NFP Standards, Policies & Procedures. Qualifications/Experience
- Minimum of 5 years in Commercial Property & Casualty insurance agency along with comprehensive understanding of all Property & Casualty insurance coverages, underwriting, and rating concepts. Expertise in habitational and commercial real estate is a must.
- Ability to manage a book of business with the following characteristics: Ø Average Book of Business Premium Total: $6MM to $8MM. Ø Premium Account Size: $75K to $200K. Ø Average # of accounts: 100-125.
- Higher education designation (CPCU, ARM, CIC, CRM) is preferred.
- Experience with compliance, forecasting, annual audits, and reporting.
- Professional presentation skills required.
- Knowledgeable about real estate industry trends, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve performance.
- Although this position will be primarily responsible for internal account management functions and operations, previous sales management experience and a willingness to mentor others is valued.
- This position is client facing and will require some local travel to meet with clients and prospects.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, working knowledge of Agency Management Systems, proficiency with office software applications, etc.
