Job Title: Intermediate Automation Controls Engineer
Location: Windsor, ON (Full-Time)
Our client an Industrial Automations Systems Integrator is seeking a Intermediate Automation Controls Engineer in Windsor, ON. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers looking for experience within a leading Systems Integrator.
Job Summary:
This role is critical in supporting the controls team with the design, programming, and implementation of advanced automation systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and hands-on experience in PLC, HMI, robotic systems, and SCADA programming, delivering high-quality and reliable solutions for assigned projects.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and program automation and controls systems, incorporating PLC, HMI, robotic, and SCADA technologies.
- Develop and implement PLC code and HMI programs using Allen Bradley Studio5000, FactoryTalk View, Siemens TIA Portal, and other relevant software.
- Produce detailed documentation throughout the project lifecycle, including design specifications and test results.
- Manage design projects to ensure high-quality outcomes, reliability, and timely delivery.
- Create and review electrical schematics, specifying appropriate hardware and components.
- Offer expert guidance for identifying, analyzing, and resolving technical challenges.
- Inspect products and processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous optimization.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Computer Engineering (preferred).
- 3 to 5 years of experience in automation and controls engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in programming controls-related devices, including:
- PLC & HMIs (Rockwell, Siemens)
- Vision systems (Cognex, Keyence)
- Expertise in computer-aided design and drafting software.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to assess customer needs and translate them into actionable project specifications.
- Strong ability to interpret and implement technical specifications with precision.
