Job Description
Job Purpose
The person in this role is responsible for leading our technical team and managing the business and technical
processes required to ensure our products meet customer value expectations and are technically compliant with
applicable regulations, rules, and specifications. This person is also responsible for integrating product designs into
manufacturing processes and responsible for all manufacturing engineering activity. This person will lead the
development and introduction of new products and product enhancements for the global market. This position will
work closely with key internal stakeholders including Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance and Technical team
members to deliver market-driven new products and product enhancements. The Director of Engineering and
Technical Service will foster a culture of collaboration, mutual trust and respect, open communication, accountability
for results, and ethical practices in all business relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the organization by modeling the highest level of integrity and following ethical principles in all
business relationships, collaboration, open and honest communications and respect.
Drives new product development and product improvement process to provide market and profit growth
through improved customer experience and alignment with market needs.
Focus on developing engineering systems that allow for efficient design processes and practices,
engineering data management and usage, defined procedures and selected standards for product structure,
execution of designs, and product documentation processes for internal and external use.
Trains and develops technical team members; develops and builds overall technical team capability.
Manages manufacturing engineering activity to implement improvements in cost, quality, and delivery of
products and improvements in manufacturing processes.
Develops and implements new product strategies which build a strong culture of product innovation.
Define and create a high performing product development process with cross functional support and
ownership.
Lead diverse teams of creative, technical and engineering personnel to execute successful product
launches.
Manages priorities and allocates resources that are aligned with ultimate business goals.
Monitors existing product line throughout the life cycle using customer feedback and cost of quality data and
ensures adjustments are executed as necessary.
Ensures current and upcoming regulatory compliance requirements are met.
Education, Knowledge and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field (MBA preferred).
Ten years’ experience in a heavy-duty commercial vehicle, special purpose vehicle, or mobile equipment
industry in a low volume, high mix environment.
Customer focus mentality; desires to help customers be successful with our products.

Ten years’ experience in managing cross-functional teams to deliver technical products to the market.
Prior experience leading new product development activity.
Formal LEAN training and experience desired.
Proven leadership skills in engaging employees to achieve successful business results.
Demonstrated ability to develop business relationships to build strategic alliances, which leverage business
opportunities.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including delivering business presentations to internal
stakeholders and customers.
Organized, positive and high-energy individual with an entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to execute with
high attention to detail.
Sense of urgency, persistence and determination.
Demonstrated ability to give and receive both positive and critical feedback in a professional manner.
Demonstrated ability to foster and promote professional, ethical and positive interactions with customers,
vendors, and employees.
Proficient in MS Office products and Design programs, including Solid Works, Inventor, etc.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Holds managerial responsibility for the Engineering and Technical Services
Team.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing and office environment. Exposure to noise, fumes, and dust, while in the manufacturing facility.
Physical Demands:
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for
prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or
pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine
coordination including use of a computer keyboard, and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The
noise level in the work environment is usually quite in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with
both constant and sudden loud noises possible. Works indoors most of the time. Works somewhat close to other
people, such as when sharing office space.
