The Certified or Licensed Nurses Assistant (CNA or LNA) shall be responsible for performing the following services that include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • The Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA) shall be responsible for performing the following services that include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Performing para-professional nursing duties; maintaining cleanliness and order in the work setting, taking and recording vital signs and maintaining medical records and other related records.
  • Answering patient or residents call lights, delivering messages, serving meals, making beds and assisting patients and residents with eating, dressing and bathing.
  • Providing skin care to patients and residents, taking their temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate, blood pressure and helping patient and residents walk and get into and out of bed.
  • Applying methods and techniques in maintaining a safe, orderly, therapeutic and hygienic environment.
  • Noting changes in patient and residents condition and reporting to the licensed nurse.
  • Performing Para-professional nursing duties, which include maintaining cleanliness and order in the work setting, taking and recording vital signs and maintaining medical records and related records.
  • Answering patients’ call lights, delivering messages, serving meals, making beds, and assisting patients with eating, dressing, and bathing.
  • Applying methods and techniques to maintain a safe, orderly, therapeutic and hygienic environment.

Qualifications:

  • Shall hold a current license in good standing privilege to practice as a CNA by the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
  • Shall comply with the Arizona State Board of Nursing Statutes, Rules and Regulations.
  • Current certifications for Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Support (BLS), meeting the American Heart Association standards.
  • Must know how to use gait belts and mechanical lifts to transfer patients.
  • Shall be familiar with Occupational Safety Health Association (OSHA) regulations.
  • Shall comply with all requirements set by the Joint Commission.
