Job Description
Our client, a leading company in automation, design, and manufacturing of automated parts processing assembly equipment, including the production of automotive check fixtures,
is seeking a seasoned professional with years of experience to elevate their team and introduce innovative ideas and standards.
Position Overview: As a Senior Automation Designer Engineer, you will be a key player in strengthening our design department. Your extensive experience, coupled with your knack for innovation, will drive our projects forward. You'll work with Solidworks software to conceptualize, design, and develop cutting-edge automation equipment tailored to the specific needs of our clients in the automotive sector. (Recent graduate students without actual field experience/ without Canadian experience , will NOT be considered)
5 years experience.

Mandatory knowledge in Solidworks software, design and develop automation equipment for the plastics area of automotive (ultrasonic welding, punching, clip installation, robotic gluing, lighting, leak test etc..)
Responsibilities:
- Utilize Solidworks software to design and develop automation equipment for various processes in the plastics area of automotive manufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into innovative design solutions.
- Lead the design process from concept to production, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project timelines.
- Introduce new ideas, technologies, and standards to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in design and development processes.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of designs to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in designing automation equipment, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Proficiency in Solidworks software and other relevant design tools.
- Design automation and assembly equipment.
- Prepare and interpret technical drawings, calculations, customer standards and specifications.
- 3D modelling and 2D detailing to create multiple iterations of design prototypes using Solidworks and AutoCAD.
- Generate and organize fully detailed BOMs.
- Maintain budget and timelines.
- Prepare and produce detail prints and assembly drawings.
- Write equipment manuals, maintenance schedules and reports.
- Ensure all completed designs match customer specifications.
- Support the Assembly and Controls departments during design, assembly and debug stages of a project.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
