Summary Background Required:
A seasoned and strategic professional to serve as the firm’s Senior Claims Advocate and Loss Control Manager, primarily for commercial clients. This dual-role position is critical to delivering the high-touch, proactive service our clients expect. The ideal candidate brings deep experience navigating complex claims, coordinating with carriers and counsel, and identifying risk mitigation strategies across industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Claims Advocacy
Lead the resolution of complex property and casualty claims on behalf of clients, serving as their advisor and liaison with carriers, adjusters, and legal counsel.
- Provide strategic oversight from initial reporting through resolution, ensuring timely communication, documentation, and outcomes aligned with client expectations.
- Review policy language and coverage forms to guide clients on their rights, responsibilities, and available options.
- Escalate matters as needed within carriers to advocate for fair, efficient outcomes.
- Monitor and report on claims trends and large losses across the client portfolio.
Loss Control & Risk Management
- Develop and implement customized loss control programs for clients based on operations, industry-specific exposures, and carrier requirements.
- Coordinate site visits, surveys, and third-party inspections; follow through on carrier recommendations and client execution.
- Advise clients on safety protocols, training, contractual risk transfer, and business continuity planning.
- Serve as a strategic risk advisor to clients during onboarding and throughout the policy lifecycle.
- Maintain strong relationships with loss control vendors and carrier engineering teams.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Partner with account executives and producers to position the firm as an indispensable risk advisor.
- Oversee and mentor claim and loss control team members in claims handling and loss control program development, documentation, and client communications.
- Contribute to internal education and knowledge sharing on emerging loss trends and best practices.
- Participate in stewardship meetings with clients and support renewal strategy discussions with data and insights from claims and loss control.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial property & casualty insurance, with at least 5 years focused on claims and/or risk management.
- Strong knowledge of insurance policy language, coverage analysis, and the claims lifecycle across various lines (GL, property, auto, WC, E&O, etc.).
- Familiarity with loss control protocols in industries such as real estate, construction, manufacturing, and professional services.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex, high-stakes claims with discretion and client confidence.
- Professional designations (e.g., CSP, CRM, ARM) strongly preferred.
