Our client is looking for a candidate to fill a Business Development Executive role for our Infrastructure Practice in North Carolina. The right candidate will drive increased profitability within the NC market for the Infrastructure Business and be responsible for revenue generation. This leader will be expected to immediately impact the firm as we seek to grow our client base and our staff. This person must exhibit a professional attitude, visionary thinking, innovative ideas, analytical problem solving and a willingness to collaborate while having the ability to work independently. A strong existing, multi-disciplinary professional network will assist in meeting the job requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build primary service lines for growth: Transportation, Stormwater, Water/Sewer/Utilities, Site Design and Geospatial Services. Secondary: Assist in growing the Buildings and Safety Practices under one umbrella.
- Develop client base: Primarily public clients with a focus on municipal clients. Could also help in the development of the private client base. Diversification of a client base to the clients that they already have will be paramount in the position.
- Assist marketing in identity and image campaigns to get the name greater recognition in the industry.
- Build client management relationships, executing the consultative sales process to develop relationships that move us upstream of RFQ/RFP releases with clients and prospects.
- Coordinate the development of sales plans for strategic clients and strategic opportunity pursuits.
- Execute sales management plans with a focus on project identification, developing teaming agreements and opportunity prioritization and pursuit.
- Focus geographically and engage in the regional industry to be recognized for expertise by our clients, competitors, and channel partners. Help them become a trusted advisor for our client base.
- Identify project opportunities at all stages of project development.
- Identify client needs, goals and future projects.
- Position out team with the client, channel partners, selection committee members and significant stakeholders in a role to be successful in project pursuits.
- Develop effective sales strategies to achieve contract awards.
- Maintain internal influence and an external leadership position in the development of engineering tasks that are critical to the success of the client relationship.
- Manage a team of business development experts that execute sales processes and lead the delivery of statements of qualifications and project proposals for the North Carolina Infrastructure Business.
- Manage the sales process and pipeline within the North Carolina Infrastructure Practice.
- Develop annual sales goals.
- Review progress monthly and evaluate the strength of the pipeline.
- Coordinate with business line leaders and operations managers on improvements towards goals.
- Maintain sales process materials and lead the training and mentoring of new sales professionals in the practice, including process review and improvements.
- Ability to travel.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university with an emphasis in engineering, engineering management, management, marketing, sales or related field. Graduate degree in engineering or business a plus.
- 10-20+ years of work in the engineering field or management and/or sales experience within an engineering consulting firm.
