Job Description

The Director of International Accounting is responsible for coordinating with our international accountants and executives to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financials for our international subsidiaries. In addition, he/she will develop and implement processes to align current accounting methods with our global standards and procedures. He/she will be charged with ensuring compliance with all global statutory reporting requirements, reconciliation to GAAP, and accumulation of all statements, footnotes and other information necessary for a full and proper global consolidation.

Responsibilities:

  • Hire, promote, discipline and terminate subordinate employees
  • Ensure the preparation of accurate subsidiary financial statements, statutory and US GAAP mandates
  • Oversee the complete and accurate accumulation of financial reporting packages from the international accountants
  • Ensure the accuracy and reconciliation of all financial information
  • Host weekly meetings with international accountants to improve efficiencies, integrate financial systems and accurately report financial information
  • Oversee the international accounting team to ensure all accounting support is proper for closing the books monthly
  • Prepare technical accounting memos and process memos ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Analyze methodology and ensure international calculations and financial statement rollups are consistent with the United States
  • Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements, including cash flows by entity for consolidation
  • Ensure journal entries are correctly calculated and posted, including proper treatment of foreign currency translation accounting
  • Streamline accounting processes for accuracy and efficiency
  • Direct initiatives for automation of financial reporting
  • Produce ad hoc reports and analyses
  • Calculate and distribute any board related information, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent credits for CPA)
  • At least 4+ years of public accounting or public/private mix
  • At least 2 years with international accounting, including foreign currency conversion, statutory accounting, audits in various countries, and differences between GAAP and statutory books, or working to consolidate international operations with outside accountants
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong GAAP expertise and prior demonstrated ability to conduct research and document when required
  • Experience using NetSuite or equivalent ERP a plus
  • Mastery of Excel
  • Experience with Gmail and Google Docs
  • Experience with MS Office (Word and Excel)
  • Experience with web browsers (Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc.)
