Controller
Job Description
Summary/Objective:
The Controller is responsible for managing the finance and accounting team providing information,
primarily financial in nature, about all company activities, supporting the achievement of company-wide
goals.
Essential Functions:

1. Support the safe operation of the organization.
2. Lead The Accounting and Finance to in performing monthly closing and reporting activities for
the organization
3. Support the management to Payroll function
4. Lead the organization’s inventory control and cost accounting efforts.
5. Manage the preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules. Analyze
and edit for accuracy.
6. Support; manage the preparation for the annual audit and tax schedules for outside
accountants.
7. Support budgeting and forecasting activities
8. Review financial, cost and operational variance analysis performed, edit for accuracy
9. Support due diligence, merger and acquisition activity
10. Support the Risk Management function for property and related insured products and issues.
11. Partner with Human Resources on employee benefit accounting, worker’s compensation
administration.
12. Collaborate in confidence with Director of Finance and Leadership Team on ad hoc assignments
13. Hires, trains, develops and evaluates staff. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely
basis and in accordance with Company policy. Ensures compliance with current federal, state
and local regulations. Consults with Human Resources as appropriate.
14. Ability to develop, coach and provide continuous improvement to department team members.
15. Improve the financial systems, processes and policies in support of the organization’s overall
mission/vision.
16. Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has leadership responsibility for Corporate Finance and Accounting.
Work Environment:
This position operates in an office, warehouse, fabricating and construction site environment. The team
member is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work area can
be loud.
Travel:
This position requires some limited travel.
Required Education and Experience:
1. Accounting or Finance Degree required, Master’s Degree in Business or related field preferred
2. CPA designation a plus
3. 10+ years accounting, manufacturing cost accounting, financial analysis and financial systems
experience in a medium to large manufacturing organization
4. Self-motivated and self-directed
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
6. Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
7. Knowledge of database and accounting computer application systems to supply the most
accurate financial information.
