Job General scope:

My client is seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join their team in Paris. This key role involves supporting the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in advancing the engineering and technological development of the DAC technology.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) study and project management of a 1-tonne-per-day pilot plant.

This is a crucial position within the organization, offering high autonomy and the potential for career growth.

Main Objectives:

  • Perform FEED studies for the pilot, including production of PFDs, P&IDs, pilot sketches, and equipment nomenclature.
  • Define equipment specifications, send inquiries to suppliers, and manage equipment supply, including contract management, within budget, timeline, and performance constraints.
  • Manage external engineering contractors for the pilot assembly.
  • Lead the development of the complete process model in collaboration with the R&D team, including transfer to AspenPlus.
  • Contribute to the process scale-up strategy by taking inputs from the R&D team and providing directions for R&D developments.
  • Secure technico-economic assessments at industrial scale.

Qualification requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years in chemical process engineering and project management, with strong experience in producing engineering documentation and managing unit development and assembly.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience with electrical work, piping utilities, and other related technical areas is important. Expertise in gas-liquid transfer, electrochemistry, and CO2 capture will be advantageous.
  • Project Management: Proven experience in managing budgets (around €2-3 million) and resources, including internal teams and external contractors.
  • Industry Background: Experience in water treatment, biogas, hydrogen production, or related industries.
  • Commissioning Experience: Experience in commissioning pilot plants is a significant advantage.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required; French is not essential.
