Position Summary: Our client is looking for a seasoned HR Director with a strong background in managing multi-site operations in an industrial setting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in non-union environments, a deep understanding of US labor laws, benefits, and safety protocols, and a proven track record of strategic business planning and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals. Provide leadership and guidance on HR matters to senior executives.
  • Multi-Site Management: Oversee HR operations across multiple sites in the GTA and USA. Ensure consistency in HR practices and compliance with local laws.
  • Legal & Benefits Expertise: Manage legal compliance and employee benefits for US locations. Stay abreast of changes in labor laws and regulations.
  • Safety: Promote and implement safety programs. Ensure all sites adhere to safety regulations and best practices.
  • Executive Reporting: Report directly to the executive team. Provide insights and recommendations to support business objectives.
  • Business Planning & Budgeting: Develop and manage HR budgets. Contribute to strategic planning and business development initiatives.
  • Stability & Commitment: Demonstrate a stable career history with long-term commitments to previous employers.
  • Travel: Travel 10-15% of the time within the GTA and the USA to support multi-site operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of HR experience in an industrial setting (automotive, metal fabrication, or skilled trades).
  • Extensive experience in non-union environments.
  • Strong knowledge of US labor laws, benefits, and safety regulations.
  • Proven experience reporting to executive-level management.
  • Demonstrated ability in business planning, strategy development, and budgeting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 10-15% within the GTA and USA.
