Responsibilities:

  • Work safely and effectively, adhering to all applicable Federal, Provincial, Unionized, local, company, and facility health and safety, fire, environmental, quality, and general ordinances/policies.
  • Support company objectives by enhancing facility safety, product quality, and manufacturing productivity while reducing costs.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities to improve the operation and maintenance of equipment and production systems.
  • Troubleshoot production and quality issues in collaboration with operating personnel.
  • Perform predictive and preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment in a timely manner.
  • Complete all required documentation, including work orders, parts sign-outs, requisitions, and quality sign-off sheets.
  • Take ownership of repairs, ensuring jobs are completed within time demands.
  • Perform welding and machining tasks as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Respond to work orders and service calls promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Log parts out of inventory and record as necessary.
  • Adhere to internal quality control standards.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or dangerous behavior to the appropriate manager.
  • Participate in required training.
  • Coordinate preventive and demand maintenance and discretionary work assignments with the supervisor as requested.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, and tractors to position machinery and parts during installation, set-up, and repair.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned to ensure the continued success of the company.

Required Experience, Education, and Skills:

  • Valid Industrial Millwright Certificate – 433A
  • 3-5 years of previous millwright experience
  • Competency in welding, minor fabricating, and rigging
  • Good working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, including troubleshooting
  • Experience operating all general-purpose machine shop equipment
  • Ability to work as a team member with minimal supervision
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $37.64-$38.40 per hour
