We are presently working on an exciting opportunity suited for a Litigation Attorney seeking a transition into an In-House Legal Position. As an Associate Counsel, this individual will be directly responsible for handling all general litigation matters, from the filing of initial lawsuits through judgment (with a focus on breach of contract claims and other commercial matters). The preferred candidate should possess experience with a small to medium-sized law firm, demonstrate a keen interest in transitioning to an in-house role, and exhibit a readiness to excel in a dynamic, team-driven work environment by embracing a "whatever it takes" attitude. In addition to serving as an excellent chance for an In-House transition, this role presents an opportunity to enhance your legal expertise, acquiring proficiency in areas pertinent to evolving into a corporate generalist.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing the entire litigation process from the initial filing of complaints to final judgments.
• Collaborating closely with internal restructuring and accounting departments to prepare litigation matters effectively.
• Directing and overseeing external local counsel in handling out-of-state legal matters, such as collateral recovery and enforcing judgments.
• Assisting in various legal matters, including bankruptcy and insolvency, when required.
• Efficiently managing out-of-state legal dockets.
• Offering legal advice and analysis to business executives regarding the status and strategic approach to both Massachusetts and out-of-state litigation matters.

Qualifications:

• JD and an active license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• At least 3 years of commercial litigation experience.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage simultaneous projects under deadline pressure in a dynamic and fluid environment.
• Bankruptcy and insolvency experience are a big plus.
