Our client is hiring a Communications Assistant Resource in the Corporate Communication and Education Department, for a temporary contract ,for their Port of Spain office.


Job Duties:

  • Maintains the communication stakeholder database including media listings and client contacts.
  • Maintains the Department’s shared folders.
  • Implements media schedules by booking media space/time to support the Commission’s programmes.
  • Liaises with external advertising and publication representatives to co-ordinate the publication of ads, notices, alerts, orders, etc. when required.
  • Compiles materials for internal and external articles and drafts articles as and when required.
  • Produces the internal newsletter and assists with developing content for the IE newsletter.
  • Liaises with Records Management department re: the filing of correspondence generated by the department.
  • Liaises with Accounts department re: receipt and processing of invoices.
  • Schedules and confirms dates for Investor Education (IE) sessions.
  • Packages tokens, brochures, evaluation forms, camera etc. for IE sessions.
  • Issues all stationery requisitions, inclusive of requests for IE tokens and monitors these stocks within the Department.
  • Documents the completion of a list of activities in accordance with the Department’s annual Work Programme, which is submitted to the team for review and finalized by the Manager.
  • Completes and submits daily/weekly attendance record to the HR Department
  • Places attendance information re: leave, external meetings and training etc. on the intranet, on behalf of the Department.
  • Assists in the execution of public relations and education programmes.
  • Assists in the coordination of and provides on-site support to the Department at Internal/ External events and or projects.
  • Assists with review of web content, ads, internal/external publications.
  • Drafts and disseminates correspondence to stakeholders as and when required for review by the Manager.
  • Develops concepts/proposals for the observance of public holidays and international days.
  • Prepares staff meeting agenda in consultation with Manager.
  • Prepares meeting minutes.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.
Job Qualifications:
  • 5 CXC Level passes inclusive of Mathematics and English
  • 2 Advanced Level passes in Business Studies/Communications/Associate Degree in Business Studies/Communications or a related field.
  • Experience in Event Planning will be an asset.
  • 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Any other equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
