Job Title: Accountant

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant. The Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the hotel's financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, preferably within the hospitality industry, and be proficient in financial software and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payment of invoices and accurate billing to customers.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights into financial performance.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, including the preparation and filing of tax returns.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard the hotel's financial assets.
  • Audit Preparation: Assist in the preparation of financial documents and reports for internal and external audits.
  • Payroll Management: Oversee the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment to all employees.
  • Expense Management: Monitor and control expenses, providing regular reports on cost-saving opportunities.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with department heads to provide financial support and guidance, ensuring alignment with the hotel's financial goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and tax regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
