Primary Objectives of the Position
The primary objective of the Plant Operator Jr. is to operate the plant in a safe and efficient manner. This includes training in all processing information, coordinating activities, and developing and directing processes. The role is responsible to the Plant Operator Senior for all operations concerning the HTDU and ancillary equipment, ensuring compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards.
Relationships
The Plant Operator Jr. works under the direction and supervision of the Plant Operator Senior (POS), who reports directly to the Regional Manager. They will also collaborate with other staff on location, including SES personnel and the Operations Coordinator. While the primary duties are set, the Plant Operator Senior may assign additional responsibilities based on individual strengths to maximize team efficiency.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensure adherence to general safety rules.
- Operate the system safely and optimally.
- Measure the oil content of dry matter at specified intervals.
- Conduct visual assessments of the quality of produced oil and water.
- Maintain cleanliness of the plant, free from dirt and oil.
- Track spare parts and tools.
- Continuously check for leaks and other disruptions to prevent unnecessary interruptions.
- Perform necessary repairs, replacements, and maintenance in consultation with the Plant Operator Senior.
- Immediately report abnormal operating conditions to the Plant Operator Senior.
- Follow all work execution instructions, including safety protocols in accordance with environmental and occupational health guidelines.
- Train on proper, efficient, and safe operations of thermal plant equipment.
- Assist in executing all responsibilities assigned by the Plant Operator Senior.
- Know, comply with, and enforce thermal plant operating procedures.
- Receive and verify equipment upon arrival and report to the Plant Operator Senior.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on thermal plant equipment.
- Ensure the integrity, order, and cleanliness of plant tools and equipment.
- Report potential risks, spills, or problems arising during operations to the Plant Operator Senior.
- Report any incidents affecting workers, the environment, or equipment, regardless of severity.
- Attend and participate in daily Quality, Safety, and Environment meetings.
- Remain in work areas authorized by the Plant Operator Senior.
- Unload equipment and assist in mechanical assembly as directed.
- Document shift activities in the ledger notebook.
- Comply with company and customer QHSE policies.
- Properly use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Actively participate in the development of STOP cards.
- Maintain order and cleanliness in work areas.
- Impart knowledge to subordinates.
- Foster a respectful and professional environment among team members.
Pre-employment Requirements
