Our client in the Oil and Gas Sector is seeking to onboard a Driver on the temporary contract.

Compensation: $35.00 per hour.

Job Summary:

The Driver is responsible for conveying passengers, documents and other items to and from the office and other business establishments in support of the operations the company. The incumbent is required to carry out these functions in accordance with the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act always adhering to HSE best practices.

Reports to: General Services Manager

Supervising: Nil

Job duties and responsibilities:

  • To pick-up and drop off of passengers to and from their respective destinations safely and on time as required.
  • To transport and pick-up documents to various locations throughout Trinidad.
  • To carry out transactions for the company on a daily basis as required This will entail:
  • going to and from the bank for the drop off and collection of cheques;
  • making statutory payments for the company when required;
  • dispatch of transport tickets and ensure they are signed off for every run carried out;
  • return receipts for all bill payments and/or purchases to relevant department personnel;
  • To handle crew change runs as per organizational requirements when required.
  • To perform car park shuttle duties when required.
  • To assist with internal office activities as and when required.
  • To maintain neat and well organized records of daily assignments, transport tickets, transfer of packages and overtime duties at all times.
  • To maintain open communication with General Services Coordinator and Administrative Assistants on a daily basis.
  • To be respectful and courteous at all time in carrying out daily functions.
  • To ensure proper care and use of company vehicle in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • To dress in appropriate but comfortable office attire during the discharge of duties.
  • To discharge functions in a responsible and professional manner.
  • To conduct safe driving practices (seatbelts, speed, traffic restrictions, use of cellular phones etc.), as per the law of Trinidad & Tobago
  • To immediately report any problems with the vehicle to the General Services Coordinator.
  • To immediately inform the General Services Coordinator of any accidents or incidents involving vehicle.
  • To contact the General Services Coordinator or other relevant person (in HR or General Services) at the beginning of the day if no job was previously assigned.
  • To contact the General Services Coordinator or other relevant person (in HR or General Services) after completion of each job (during the hours of 6:00am to 6:00pm).
  • To provide timely feedback regarding any traffic delays & emergencies.
  • To inform of any other request outside of those assigned by the General Services Coordinator or delegate.
  • To perform any other tasks, not listed in the job description, but which may be necessary to achieve the purpose of the job.

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 “O” levels or school leaving certificate.
  • Must be safety-minded with a minimum of three (5) years of previous proven
  • Valid driver’s permit and Defensive Driving Certificate
  • Valid Certificate of Good Character
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Vehicle Responsibilities:

  • Unauthorized personnel are not allowed in vehicle
  • Personal use of vehicle is not allowed.
  • Vehicles are not to be used for employees’ personal business / errands.
  • Strict observance of No Driving in Red Zones & Restricted Areas (as instructed from time to time).
  • Vehicles to be parked overnight at Company premises.

Working Conditions:

  • May be required to work overtime or work on weekends and public holidays.
  • May be required to work early morning or late nights.

Please note:

  • Must be able to drive long distances ( Galeota)
  • Must be able to drive automatic and gears
  • Must be able to drive a van with a tray.
  • Must have a police clearance certificate and defensive driving certificate.
