Job Summary
The Warehouse Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, managing inventory control, and coordinating the movement of stock across multiple locations. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring compliance with operational standards, and driving process improvements. The Warehouse Operations Lead will also play a key role in supplier coordination, stock reporting, and expediting material deliveries while maintaining accurate documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Warehouse Management:
- Direct and oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, dispatching, and the accurate storage of materials.
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry into the FIXX system for inventory control.
- Oversee and manage all stock movements, returns, and adjustments, ensuring they are accurately tracked and reconciled.
- Inventory Control:
- Lead and manage the inventory processes, including stock ordering, replenishment, and cycle counts.
- Monitor stock levels to ensure adequate supply and avoid overstock or stockout situations.
- Transportation Coordination:
- Plan and coordinate both internal and external transportation to efficiently move stock between locations or to end-users.
- Ensure optimal delivery schedules to minimize downtime and support continuous operations.
- Staff Supervision:
- Manage and provide leadership to the Stores Clerk II and helpers, ensuring that departmental goals and productivity standards are met.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously review warehouse and stock management procedures to identify inefficiencies and gaps.
- Implement process improvements for smoother operational flow, especially when stock is required after hours, on holidays, or during emergencies.
- Stock Reporting:
- Generate monthly stock reports using the FIXX system, including details of stock levels, discrepancies, and recommendations for adjustments.
- Provide management with detailed inventory reports for review and decision-making.
- Location Oversight:
- Oversee inventory management at multiple locations, including the Company Warehouse, Marina Yard, Point Fortin, and Galeota.
- Ensure consistency in inventory management practices and communication across these locations.
- Delivery Monitoring:
- Maintain real-time updates on delivery schedules and coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Escalate any delivery delays or supply chain issues to management for resolution.
- Expediting Reporting:
- Complete and maintain a detailed expediting report reflecting the status of all POs, pending deliveries, ETAs and any issues.
- Share the expediting report with the maintenance and management team on a regular basis.
- Document Verification:
- Collect delivery notes (DNs) and invoices, ensuring they are aligned with Purchase Orders.
- Obtain necessary approvals and submit documentation for further payment processing.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar logistics or inventory management role, preferably within a parts environment.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control systems, including experience using FIXX or similar software for tracking and reconciliation.
- Proven ability to manage warehouse operations and lead a team.
Working hours: 7am - 4pm
