Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Manufacturing Surface Treatment Technician to join our dynamic team in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and treating metal surfaces to ensure they meet specific quality standards. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and a commitment to maintaining high production standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Surface Preparation:
- Clean and prepare metal surfaces for treatment by removing rust, scale, oil, and other contaminants using techniques such as blasting, grinding, and chemical cleaning.
- Ensure that surfaces are adequately prepared for subsequent treatments.

Surface Treatment Processes:
- Apply treatments like anodizing, electroplating, powder coating, painting, or other surface finishes to protect or enhance metal surfaces.
- Operate and maintain equipment used in surface treatment processes, ensuring proper application and consistency.

Inspection and Quality Control:
- Inspect surfaces before and after treatment to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Use measurement tools like calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and coating thickness.
- Identify and correct any defects or inconsistencies.

Technical Knowledge:
- Read and interpret technical schematics and instructions for surface treatments.
- Understand various metals and the appropriate treatments for each type.
- Stay updated on industry standards and best practices.

Safety and Compliance:
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear at all times.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding waste disposal and emissions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Maintenance:
- Perform regular maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. Technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in surface treatment or a related field. Experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with surface preparation and treatment equipment, understanding of schematics and technical documents, and knowledge of various metal treatments.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform manual tasks, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to perform precise work and ensure high-quality finishes.
- Problem-Solving: Capability to identify and address issues during the surface treatment process.
- Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Compensation:
- Hourly rate depends on experience.
- Senior Technicians: $35+ per hour.

Work Environment:
