Job Description

DESCRIPTION: As a Senior Wetland Scientist, you’ll lead wetland and environmental projects as Project Manager, interface with clients, land surveyors, civil engineers and project teams and present to municipal boards, conservation commissions and the Massachusetts D.E.P. The position includes preparing and submitting inland and coastal permits, creating estimates and proposals for clients, analyzing site plan designs, inspecting construction activities for compliance, ensuring as-built completion and preparing applications with narratives/exhibits for Notice of Intent, ANRAD and Certificate of Compliance. Responsibilities also include conducting environmental monitoring, NPDES, SWPPP and acting as Owner’s Rep. The role involves 25% field work, 60% office work and 15% Conservation Commission meeting presentations.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Wetland Science, Ecology, Biology of related field plus 12+ years’ experience and a Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) license. Army Corp of Engineers Wetland Delineation Certificate and membership in the Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions is preferred and New Hampshire Wetland Scientist certification is a plus. Candidates must also have knowledge of local, state and federal wetland and protected species regulations and experience in field delineation and documentation, preparation of Notices of Intent, ANRAD, Chapter 91 and Certificate of Compliance documents for inland and coastal projects as well as superior communication and time management skills. The ability to utilize ArcGIS software and other related software is a plus.
