Job Description

The Senior Electrical Engineer position will play a pivotal role within the Engineering team in Ennis. This role encompasses responsibilities for both Capital Projects and Plant Support.

For Capital Projects, the Senior Electrical Engineer will collaborate with Design-Build contractors on large-scale projects, particularly in the expansion of brown field fresh pet food manufacturing facilities. This includes overseeing the coordination, development, and implementation of electrical designs, specifications, construction management, and equipment commissioning. Additionally, they will be involved in evaluating existing electrical systems, managing proactive electrical maintenance programs, and conducting engineering studies to ensure optimal performance.

Impactful Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and coordinating Design-Builder electrical drawings and specifications, offering guidance on electrical scope and project requirements.
  • Developing and assessing designs, P&IDs, and drawings for accuracy and technical integrity.
  • Ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Establishing and maintaining engineering standards compliant with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Managing project budgets, including cost forecasts and reporting.
  • Creating conceptual design documents and scopes of work for project solutions.
  • Coordinating with consultants, vendors, and subcontractors as necessary.
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing operations.
  • Identifying and implementing new equipment, technologies, and practices to enhance reliability, quality, sustainability, and reduce costs.
  • Collaborating with EH&S resources to implement equipment safety standards and procedures, promoting a commitment to safety.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of Project Engineering experience, with at least 3 years in food and beverage manufacturing.
  • Experience in large green/brown field plant design and construction projects is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in power distribution and electrical control systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards such as NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI.
  • Ability to interpret technical procedures and schematic diagrams.
  • Flexibility to work off-hours, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Microsoft Project preferred.
